Hairstyling Program

Your journey begins here

Our hairstyling program is a pre-employment trade course in all phases of beauty culture, professional ethics and salon management. Theoretical instruction is combined with practical work conducted in a modern and thoroughly equipped cosmetology school.

We prepare students to enter the styling field upon graduation.

We will train you in all the basic elements of the industry, as well as help you to explore your mind for creativity. Each student completes a minimum of 1600 hours of instruction under a licensed instructor to become eligible to take the Cosmetology Association of New Brunswick Certified License Exam. Upon completion, with passing grades, Atlantic Hairstyling and Aesthetics Academy will award a diploma.

Hone your skills in a real environment

Your practical and theoretical work will begin with the aid of mannequin forms. As you progress through this phase you will advance to practising your newly acquired skills on actual clientele in a real salon and spa environment.

Throughout your time at Atlantic Hairstyling Academy there will be various regional and national competitions; they are not mandatory to complete your training. Competitions are your choice.

Courses begin annually in January and August. Applications are processed on a ” first in” basis, so be certain we receive your completed application form as soon as possible!

Pivot Point International Blurs the Line Between Learning and Fun With LAB Learn About Beauty

(July 21, 2015, Chicago, IL) – A new generation of learners is emerging in the professional beauty industry; learners who want to stay connected, get their information fast, and who learn best through collaborative efforts within a community. To reach and teach these new learners, Pivot Point International, Inc., long regarded a global leader in beauty education, introduces LAB, which stands for “Learn About Beauty,” to the beauty education community around the United States.

Currently, in use in many cosmetology schools around the country, LAB is an integrated social learning environment that combines best-in-class educational content, with creativity and customizable education solutions for today’s connected learners, and their instructors, in an environment for optimum beauty learning.

As LAB teaches with a strategy attuned to both today’s learners and educators, it also blurs the line between learning and fun. Pivot Point assures that LAB will engage the learning community while enhancing personal learning experiences for students. Educators at all levels receive expanded instructional opportunities when using LAB.

The education that LAB delivers provides top-notch globally accepted content that is contemporary and diverse, as is expected from Pivot Point. Social interaction and learning strategies are all merged with the most current technology to bring beauty education forward for the changing learner generations.

Another unique aspect of LAB is the ability to custom-tailor the learning experience through a modularized library of engaging content to reach all levels of learners, based on a systematic methodology. Participating LAB schools, academies, manufacturers, salon chains and others who want to reach salon professionals and future professionals with key educational messages on a variety of topics, can customize that message to extend their own brand.

It is the opening of the lines of communication within the learning community that makes LAB unique, and brand-new for the beauty industry. With LAB, communication can be one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many. This offers educators, and the learners themselves, myriad ways to collaborate and co-create with inspiring creativity.

Making learning more fun and celebrating both student and educator accomplishments, even adding a competitive edge, or
“gamification” within the learning structure, allows LAB to actually help change the form of beauty classrooms in schools throughout the country.

“LAB was previewed at the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) Annual Convention last fall, and we were very pleased with the positive response,” notes Pivot Point President Melanie Kopeikin. “Since then, we have received requests for demonstrations, as well as sincere interest to get on board with LAB from some of the country’s most innovative schools, and others offering beauty education in the U.S.” adds Kopeikin.

School Owners React to LAB

“Technology is already breaking molds and barriers in education, and at the same time helping us learn,” says Lynelle Lynch, president of Bellus Academy, Poway, CA. “With LAB’s innovative social learning environment, Pivot Point is a perfect partner for Bellus. We believe that the best way to predict the future is to invent it. Pivot Point has done just that.”
